Lucy Rose
Lucy Rose has gradually become one of the most respected and influential of the new generation of UK artists. In 2011 her trio of self-released singles – ‘Middle Of The Bed’, ‘Scar’ and ‘Redface’ – invented their own world of uniquely emotive post-acoustic pop, and her debut album ‘Like I Used To’ beautifully mined her growing up years and expanded on her girl-with-acoustic guitar roots. The Independent singled out her as one of the rising stars at Glastonbury, labelling her “the stand out female vocalist of the weekend.”
The widescreen adventure of her second album, ‘Work It Out’ (released in the summer of 2015) took her into the top 10 of the UK album charts, and after continual requests for shows from fans in South America, Lucy set out on a two month tour of the continent, playing free shows in venues organized by her fans. Her trip took in off the beaten track towns in Ecuador, Peru , Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Brazil and Mexico.
A documentary of her travels looking for deeper reasons behind her life as a musician is currently being worked on and Lucy will be busy through the rest of 2016, playing UK summer festivals and solo shows in Europe in September, followed by Istanbul, Singapore, Hong Kong and India in the run up to Christmas. Expect a breathtaking new album from her in 2017.
