Having first appeared on the capital’s live circuit at the tail end of 2023, The Itch’s pairing of undulating dancefloor fillers and disenchanted pop songwriting saw them quickly gain the interest of gig goers despite a notable absence from social media, as word-of-mouth spread about an act channelling the stadium rock sensibilities of REM through a modern dance filter.
Steered by Georgia Hardy and Simon Tyrie who met as teenagers at an open mic night, The Itch was born out of years of collaboration on club nights, ill-fated conceptual projects and the desire to break free of conventions. Straddling a fraught line between restless social commentary and escapist hedonism, The Itch operate in the nebulous space between pain and pleasure – much like the sensation of an itch itself.
