Cairo is a North London musician who combines his love of R&B, soul and jazz to create a timeless take on pop music. The Double Love EP marks his debut – a distillation of the Black queer experience viewed through a UK-focused lens. Raised in a musical home of Caribbean heritage, Cairo acquired his first keyboard aged 12 and immediately began teaching himself to play and write songs, while the sounds of Stevie Wonder filled the air from his mother’s stereo. The London neighbourhood of Tottenham, the birthplace of Adele (“land of the great!” as Cairo puts it), has found a brave new voice.
