Les Imprimés is the soulful, genre-blending project of Norwegian musician and producer Morten Martens, who plays nearly every instrument, writes, arranges, and produces his own music. Based in Kristiansand, Martens has spent decades honing his craft, winning a Spellemann Award (Norway’s Grammy) in 2006 and earning multiple nominations, while drawing inspiration from soul, gospel, reggae, hip-hop, and neo-soul. His sound fuses 60s–70s soul tones, doo-wop arrangements, hip-hop rhythms, and 90s R&B vocal stylings, layered with heartfelt lyrics and emotional delivery. After years of late-night studio sessions alongside work for other artists, the COVID lockdown gave Martens the space to focus fully on Les Imprimés, leading to his debut 7” single and a long-awaited solo record due in 2023, music marked by both immediate charm and depth that rewards repeated listening.
