Office Dog is made up of Kane Strang (vocals / guitar), Rassani Tolovaa (bass) and Mitchell Innes (drums). Although all originally from Dunedin in the very south of New Zealand, the three piece began writing together in 2021 after all moving to Auckland for various reasons. Songs that were formed out the back of barber shops, in hired church basements and rearranged lounges eventually became the band’s debut album, Spiel, recorded at Roundhead Studios over a few days with producer De Stevens (School Fair, Marlin’s Dreaming). Released for Australian and New Zealand audiences in 2023 by Flying Nun Records, Spiel was later given an international release by New West Records in early 2024. Pitchfork called it “an album about the joy of playing together”.

Currently, Office Dog is working on their sophomore album.
